1. What is xIcons?
xIcons is a new plugin for Adobe® Photoshop® CC that you can use in any image or multi-layered project to export icons for publishing applications in all major mobile software distribution platforms.
2. Why would I prefer xIcons rather than actions?
xIcons was born from the need of updating icons images quickly, so they could be edited, rated, and modified recursively, from an unique creative image. When you have an art with multiple layers, filters, effects, or groups, it becomes difficult to create a general action that saves more then 20 icons correctly and quickly, and returns it to the original state, and that overwrite, configure, scale and rename files correctly without any error. Also, xIcons creates a unique project file from your art and opens it, so you don’t need to worry about your original files.
3. What happens if I execute xIcons without any image open?
If you don’t have an opened file, xIcons will create icon’s templates instead of files. And if you choose the same folder, xIcons will overwrite old files, so that you can use xIcons to be frequently updating and rating your work.
